On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Castello di Thiene will open its gates and centuries-old park to host a key stage of Natura in Villa 2026, the widespread festival promoted by the Dimore Amiche del Veneto association.  An unmissable event where architectural history meets landscape conservation, transforming this historic residence into an open-air laboratory blending culture, botany, and hands-on workshops to celebrate the autumn season.

What is "Natura in Villa"?  

Now in its first edition, Natura in Villa is a cultural and environmental initiative created by Dimore Amiche del Veneto (under the patronage of ADSI - Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane). From October 17 to November 7, 2026, seven of the region's most captivating private historic homes will open their parks, orchards (broli), historic gardens, and frescoed halls to engage visitors of all ages on biodiversity, sustainability, ancient tree preservation, and climate change adaptation. 

An immersive journey through botanical and architectural heritage spanning the provinces of Vicenza and Padua through a rich calendar of activities: 

  • Villa Rosa Tramonte (Teolo, PD) – October 17 & 18: Talks on architecture and living spaces with architect Sophia Los, evening concerts, and a Watercolor Atelier with Laurence Turina.
  • Ca' Priuli Villa del Ferro (Villa del Ferro, VI) – October 17 & 18: The ancient history of roses with Master Gardener Carlo Pagani and AperiaLAB educational bee workshops for families.
  • Villa Angarano (Bassano del Grappa, VI) – October 18: Guided tours of monumental trees with forestry experts and beekeeping insights in the Ancient Stables.
  • Parco Frassanelle (Rovolon, PD) – October 25: Conference on historical flora with the Galilean Academy, tree workshops, and cave visits.
  • Villa Valmarana ai Nani (Vicenza) – October 25: "Eastern Inspirations" day featuring Ikebana workshops, Chrysanthemum symbolism, and tree climbing for children.
  • Villa da Schio (Castelgomberto, VI) – November 7: Special session on climate and historic garden restoration with landscape designer Pamela Nichele.

10:00 AM | Book Presentation: "Water Landscapes in Venetian Villas"

The day opens inside the halls of the Castle with the presentation of the book "Paesaggi d'acqua nelle ville venete" (Marsilio Arte, 2025), edited by Mariapia Cunico and Giuseppe Rallo, featuring an introscriptive essay by Margherita Azzi Visentini and photography by Stefano Maruzzo.
Organized in collaboration with Libreria Ubik di Thiene, the event explores the fundamental role of water in shaping Venetian gardens—from canals and fishponds to fountains and orchards.

11:30 AM & 3:00 PM | Hands-On Autumn Wreath Workshop

For those looking to express their creativity, the Castle will host two sessions of the Autumn Wreath Workshop led by Fioreria Viola di Malo. A 2-hour hands-on crafting experience where participants learn to weave seasonal branches, berries, leaves, and fruits into a custom wreath to take home.

12:00 PM & 3:00 PM | Botanical Park Walk with Pamela Nichele and Francesca di Thiene

An exclusive guided tour highlighting autumn foliage and monumental trees in the historic Castle park. Landscape designer Pamela Nichele and co-owner Francesca di Thiene will guide visitors through botanical species, revealing their history, evolution, and landscape conservation techniques.
Following the 1-hour tour, tickets include independent access to the Castle’s frescoed halls.  

  • Departure Times: 1st tour at 12:00 PM | 2nd tour at 3:00 PM
  • Fee: € 15.00 per person (includes guided park tour and self-guided access to Castle halls)
