Details of three horses' portraits

These are three details of the eight paintings by Giovanni Agostino Cassana (Venice, 1658 - Genua, 1720), a painter of portraits who then specialized on still lifes and animal paintings. Here the horse also is shown in figures of dressage, in the background one can see hunting- and warscenes hinting at the final use of the horses. The depicted horses are probably from the school in Thiene for which the beautiful stable complex had been erected at the beginning of the 18th century.
