Van Gogh between wheat and sky (in Vicenza)

From October 7, 2017 to April 8, 2018 at the Palladian Basilica

Vicenza will host the largest Italian monographic exhibition on Vincent Van Gogh. Just a few kilometres far from Thiene Castle, 40 paintings and 85 drawings by the famous Dutch painter will be exhibited on October 7, 2017 at the Palladian Basilica.

The gruesome letters Van Gogh wrote to his brother Théo and other friends will be the lead of the exhibition to be set up in the Palladian Basilica, building the diary of suffering and pain that has always characterized the painter's life and inspired his works. Innovative the cut that has been decided to give the show: all the periods of Van Gogh's life are deepened to introduce the viewer, only later, to the most prominent Provencal season. Important is the role drawing had in the author's life and also within the exhibition because it enabled him to identify his world and make it "copyable".

An unmissable event of international importance and a great opportunity to visit Vicenza and its territory in which the Thiene Castle plays a gret role.
